Creating the perfect child's bedroom with Leia from @henry.andhome

Interior blogger Leia from @henry.andhome shares her favourite homeware pieces from La Redoute, to create the perfect nursery at home for your little ones.

A child’s bedroom should be functional, practical, and most importantly a happy space, whatever the size of your child’s room. Here are my top 10 accessories to create a fun versatile space for your children.

1. Commit to a theme

A great place to start is focussing on a theme or colour scheme. You can then compliment with accessories to match or contrast against.

2. Rattan vibes

I’m a big fan of rattan furniture. La Redoute’s popular Katsuki rattan bed and Montessori toy storage unit are a fab furniture combo. Perfect for toy rotation, the shelving unit is a great design with a montessori element for children to access their favourite toys with ease.

The Quto Rattan Pineapple basket adds an element of fun, and finishing off with the Ezbar fringed rug adds texture, whilst giving added comfort to those little feet!

3. Storage is key

You can never have enough storage when you have children. It’s about finding storage that’s practical for its purpose and aesthetically fits in with your theme; more so especially if it’s permanently on display. Thankfully, storage has come a long way in recent years and is commonly used now as a focal point or feature. The Nadeon shelf with fabric storage pockets is a great staple piece that can store an array of toys, with its hidden deep storage drawers, along with the fabric slots to display items too.

Another handy storage solution is the Mesa metal trunks that can easily be tucked under the bed to free up floor space.

4. Wall space is more space

Wall decorations come in all shapes and sizes and are a great way of being creative, without compromising on space. A wall print is always a good starting point to break off from. I just adore the Ally Child’s Framed alphabet print which is not only eye-catching in terms of its design, but has an educational element too.

The Hayi elephant head adds a new dimension to a wall, alongside the Ronda Sunshine Canvas which finishes off the boho theme nicely. The Darpa solid oak wall hook is such a versatile product too, and can be easily changed around with accessories.
