Autumn is well and truly here and it's time to rethink the wardrobe situation. I believe in investing in a few really good basics to form the backbone of my looks, then adding in bits and pieces to ring the changes every now and again. Here, I am sharing my edit of those items from La Redoute that work season after season, year in and year out.
The Trusty Trucker Jacket
I'm starting with that trusty staple, the denim jacket. Honestly, I don't know what I would do without one in my wardrobe, they work so well over dresses, with jeans, and for both casual and semi-formal outings, they have truly become one of those hard-working pieces you can treasure for ages.
I've teamed it here with a really easy jersey dress, one of those pop on pieces that you don't have to think about!
And my trusty trainers - here, a crisp white pair really lifts the whole look. These are from Adidas and will work with so many outfits seasonally.
Pretty in checked
You know when you are in the mood for a tailored look, but you don't want to try too hard? Well, this checked dress does this for me! It's fitted, yet comfortable, formal, yet easy, and can work for so many occasions.
I've worn it here with long suede boots in an ivory shade to pick out the background colour of the checks, but it would work with black heels or suede flats or even a good old chelsea boot.
