How to use green shades this season by @ciaraelliott

Homes journalist and content creator Ciara Elliott @ciaraelliott is slowly renovating a beautiful 200 year old house. Here, she tells us all about her love of green shades and how they bring the power of nature into our homes.

GO GREEN

Bringing all things nature centre stage again, green is such an on-trend colour right now with every shade coming through for the season, from deep party emeralds to cocooning darks to fresh mints.

I love how traditional pinewood greens look great with raw wood and even in terms of Christmas trends this is the sort of simplicity that feels fresh and different. Whether it is adding a piece of green furniture, going jungle patterned on the walls or simply adding in nature inspired prints and seasonal greenery such as eucalyptus or ivy (faux is fine too!) green is such a restful colour, it works in almost any stylish interior.

1. Boutique hotel headboards

I love the hotel feel of this forest green velvet headboard which would give any bed a proper new-season refresh. I like that this item is made in the UK too.

2. Work-in-style with a retro desk

This 1950s inspired kidney bean shaped desk is pure Mad Men. This is a wonderfully retro piece to instantly elevate your WFH situation.

3. Bring life into the home with faux plants

Bringing the outside in has never looked so good with this elegant palm tree.

4. Tis’ the season for wreaths

A eucalyptus wreath is a great accent for decorating your home at this time of year, and when you feel a bit more festive simply add some twinkling lights.

5. Plants, plants, plants!

Any trailing plant works really well in my home as we have so many plant shelfs and shelfs. This trailing SpanishMoss plant is a bit different too.

6. Think outside the box with plant pots

I am always on the hunt for good planter stands, and this one is sturdy enough to hold my favourite Monstera. I love its fresh minty hue too.
