Jamila from @prosecco_lifestyle shares her top tips on how to create the perfect date night from home.
As we’re all too aware, these are trying times economically and in true Prosecco lifestyle fashion, Mr P and I have tightened our belts an extra notch.
Like many, we’ve cut down on eating out and opted for date nights at home. In turn, we’ve slowly updated and curated beautiful cook and serve ware and was thrilled when the La Redoute team got in touch and set us this date night challenge.
Our home is full of deep colours and textures; the palette we use often mimics an autumnal scene. We love a good restaurant setting and the interior touches which often become inspirations for our home.
Pièce de résistance
The space above our dining table has been screaming out for a statement piece. I chose the Nolami 50 x 70cm graphic printed poster which is an abstract piece tying in all the colours we love. This piece really started the design process; I’d always recommend choosing a pièce de résistance which you can keep going back to for harmony in your design.
Setting the scene
For the linen and napkins, I chose the Cadix trimmed washed linen. I just love the texture washed linen brings and how inviting and relaxed it makes a home. There are various trim colours which are all beautiful to compliment your style. Is it a romantic setting without the dancing of a flame from a candle? I set off to find some holders and stumbled on the Nelina ceramic candle holders in oatmeal. The colour and textures from the ceramic is just beautiful and I love how neutral they are to suit any home.
Brass & gold
Would it be a Prosecco lifestyle dinner without the injection of warmth from my favourite metal? I’ve been after some quality and stylish gold cutlery for a while and the Isaure 24-Piece Cutlery Set was the one. I love a slim handle design when it comes to cutlery so these were perfect. I also got the Dajan golden napkin rings in gold because your girl is extra and why not when they look this polished and stylish.
Cook and serve
Now comes the fun part… to inject a bit of play to the date night, we made porn star martinis and served them in these Ravenhead cocktail glasses.
We cooked some delicious pan Asian inspired meals including a stir fry in the Jamie Oliver quick and easy stainless steel wok - Mr P loves the soft grip handle on it.

As soon as the meal was ready, we used the Leiria Oval Sandstone Dish and Pasta plates to serve. I love the earthy colour, feel and unorthodox shapes of this set! It really makes your dishes pop and is a treat for the eyes. Then it was time to eat, season as desired with the So’Home clear Salt & pepper set and voila!
