Introducing Hannah Gale, a twenty something mum living in Suffolk, Hannah is an ex-fashion journalist turned full time blogger with her finger fully on the pulse of all things stylish. Here, she shares some of her cherished memories of La Redoute and shows us some of her favourite pieces for her home and wardrobe.= from the latest collections.
My first memories of La Redoute go way back to when I was a kid.
I’d eagerly flick through the glossy pages of the latest brochure as soon as it landed in our hallway, circling all my favourite bits with a pen and folding down the corners of the pages whenever anything took my fancy.
I’d hope that my mum would stumble across my doodles and desperate please for gloriously chic new clothes and indulge me, but spoiler: she rarely did.
I was re-introduced to the brand years and decades later, as an adult, through the ever wonderful power of social media.
So many of my favourite fashion and interior Instagram accounts were shouting about these incredible berber rugs, amazing summer dresses and perfect wide-leg cropped trousers and they were all from one place - La Redoute.
Fast forward to 2019 and both my home and my wardrobe are spoiled with incredible finds from the French brand and I’ve discovered so many long-term favourites.
I love the bedding. It’s soft, it’s incredible quality and it makes for a pretty wonderful night’s sleep. My trick is to stock up on the wide offering of coloured pillowcases in bright, statement colours like blush pink and mustard, as an inexpensive way to instantly make a bedroom decor stand out.
I’ve also got the Ourika rug which has instantly injected a burst of personality and colour into my otherwise very plain and minimal living room. I’ve pulled out some of the colours from the design with matching Mongolian wool cushions - they’re incredibly soft and a real luxury addition to my pretty tired sofa!
Fashion-wise, I have a few things I go back to La Redoute for time and time again.
I love the classic jumpsuits that always look elegant and chic but are incredibly versatile - perfect for dressing up with heels or down for the nursery run with Converse.
They also do great printed midi and maxi dresses, and this folk style one is a current fave of mine. I love that the dark print means it works all year round, whether with tights and chunky boots or with a straw bags and sandals.
Finally - the knitwear. So plush and warm and soft and well, just really, really lovely. I’m obsessed with this pink cardigan at the moment, the perfect every day throw-on and the colour is just divine.
I’ve got lots of the jumpers and wear them slightly oversized with jeans, dungarees and midi skirts, and couldn’t recommend them any more.
La Redoute, you’ve got a big fan in me.
