Hey, Cool Job!

If you’re thinking of making a career switch in 2019 but you’re not sure what to do, this podcast is full of work inspiration. From LEGO designers to scuba diver instructors, war reporters and creative directors, host Mary H.K. Choi interviews a wide range of people to find out just what their working day is like.

The Adam Buxton Podcast

With guests like Louis Theroux, Zadie Smith and Edgar Wright, comedian Adam Buxton’s podcast is as funny as you’d expect but also interesting, surprising and very friendly. A great one to listen to if you need a blast of positivity.

Serial

Probably one of the most famous podcasts around, Serial is on its third series and continues to be thoroughly gripping. In series three, each episode focuses on an ordinary court case and examines the successes and failures of the legal process, and how they affect those in the system – really interesting stuff.

Ctrl Alt Delete

Hosted by the former social media editor of British Glamour, Emma Gannon, Ctrl Alt Delete is funny and honest, discussing topics like dealing with trolls, baring your soul on social and women in the workplace. With some great high-profile guests and a brilliant female perspective, it’s a must-listen.

At Home With

By combining interiors with beauty and entrepreneurship, At Home With makes for a varied and interesting listen. It’s hosted by UK beauty bloggers Anna Newton and Lily Pebbles and visits the homes of some of the UK’s most interesting lifestyle success stories – from skincare founder Liz Earle to influential midwife Clemmie Hooper. Great if you need some interiors inspo for 2019, too.
