      Scrappy finish

      The style and size is perfect , however the finish on the wood top was particularly rough and second hand looking. I know it had sn industrial finish but the wood looked like it had been attacked by a toddler with sandpaper anc wire wool . The fact the wood top was untreated is ridiculous considering it’s a coffee table. There would be water ring marks from cups and glasses all over if your didn’t have placemats at hand. With children this is an impossible task to monitor, I ended up treating the wood with an oak wood stain to give it protection and to take the edge off the random sandpaper swirls that were all over it. It’s now darker than I wanted it to be but I’ll live with it. Just couldn’t be bothered sending it back and had got it in the sale so thought just live with it. If I had paid full price it would have got sent back immediately it’s looked like something from a beginners woodworking class
