This counter height stool looks really great and suits a 'Japandi' interior style perfectly. I ordered two for my counter height island unit and loved them, but a few days after receiving them, one of them completely collapsed under me; one side came off completely. It's to do with the design - all weight is pushed outwards and there's no lower cross bar to keep the A shape of the legs together so they naturally want to push outwards; this puts too much strain on the joint where it meets the seat. I'm not massively heavy, but I must have got the angle wrong and put too much on one unfortunate weak spot (a notch in the grain of the wood at the joint). Should say, the other stool has been perfectly fine so I ordered another while I wait for La Redoute to sort out their torturous returns and refund process (it's taken weeks)
