Bought these for my mother in law and used size guide supposed to be size 7 but size 7.5 arrived and they are far too big. Going to return

I used the size guide faithfully and measured my foot on a piece of paper and ordered a size 39 because that’s what the guide suggests. The shoes arrived and they’re so big that they’re unwearable and have to be returned. I was looking forward to receiving them so much! There was a slight delay with the delivery but I was well-informed and the quality of the product is good, it’s just a shame I’ll never be able to wear them. I normally wear a size 38 but lately I have ordered this size online and it is also too big. For myself, I think a 37.5 or 37 would fit so it may be worth sizing down when you order to avoid disappointment. But that’s only assuming that the sizing is consistent. I have previously ordered boots in a size 38 that were far too tight. The tongue of the shoe also seemed to dig into the front of my ankle, uncomfortably.
