21/04/2026Thin
I've had this for over a year. It's okay. It's flimsy as flimsy can be. There's absolutely no structure to it whatsoever including at the base. If you set it down it's going to fold itself over. Seems to hold up just fine just wish there was a little more substance to it .

18/12/2025Impressive!
When I first saw this bag, I was very excited by the colors. I added it to the list of items I want in the future and my husband saw it. I was having a bad week one week and he surprised me with this. Upon opening, I was a bit take back. I am very much used to the original Kanken bag and was expecting the same material in a way. I thought it felt flimsy at first and thought no way this can hold anything heavy?
Oh! How I was proven wrong!
I ended up taking it on a family outing that required me to bring 2 toddler water bottles, my heavy metal water bottle, snacks for my toddlers, 5 bananas, and notebooks, my phone, travel charger and change of clothing for the kids and myself.
It all fit!! I was amazed and when I wore it as a backpack it felt so light weight and comfortable! Thank you so much!

12/10/2025Seriously, does it all and is light
Best everything bag that does all the things. I have used it in some many situations! Packable day bag in one bag travel, personal item to chuck things into at the gate to have with me when storing backpack overhead, light layers and snacks, overnight throw and go, musician bags. The lack of structure and light weight materials allows so much shove and go! If isn’t a laptop throw it in a protective cover. Also adds structure t the back when needed.

03/07/2025Perfect for specific use cases
I spent some time comparing different brands of convertible laptop backpack/totes and ended buying this one because 1) the shoulder strap is adjustable and removable, 2) the bag is lightweight and packable and 3) the style is more casual than other brands. I really love this bag, but I only started to truly appreciate it when I realized the niche it filled within my bag collection. It’s not the most heavy duty, comfortable, or spacious bag I have, so it’s not my daily driver. However, it is one of the most versatile, lightweight, straightforward, and reliable bags that I have. I therefore tend to use it for travel because it’s great as a combo daypack, work bag, and casual outdoors bag without being too bulky and without looking too technical or formal. It can fit in my larger travel backpack either folded or lying flat without adding much bulk or weight. I also like it for quick work sessions at coffee shops when I don’t need my full work setup, but instead only need my laptop, water bottle, chargers, and headphones. I used to use my Fjallraven Totepack No. 1 for these purposes, but I find the High Coast Totepack’s pockets to be more helpful and its backpack straps to be much more comfortable and intuitive. I do wish the side pockets were larger (they fit my 24oz water bottle, but not my 32oz), and that there was at least a false bottom in the laptop compartment to provide a bit more protection. The shoulder strap is not particularly comfortable, but I find it perfect for the amount of weight that I feel secure actually putting in the bag. It’s also easy to swap out if desired.

23/05/2025My favorite bag in my 4 year rotation!
This is my favorite bag! I just wish they made a bigger version
with a larger side pocket for water bottles.

21/04/2025This could be a great bag but it needs some work
I so want to love this bag! But I don't. There is zero padding for my laptop and the shoulder strap is so uncomfortable. There is only a half pocket for the laptop and the bag has no structure, so I am constantly fighting to keep the bag upright and insert the laptop into the pocket. If you do not plan to use this for a laptop bag, it IS great. Lots of pockets to keep yourself organized and a great size.

11/03/2025Almost perfect
I've had this for 2 months now, wearing it almost every day to work. I almost never write reviews, but wanted to because this is *almost* the perfect bag. It's the perfect size, the pockets and organization are intuitive, I love that Fjallraven bags have a white inside so you can see where you've put everything, and the backpack/cross-body option is exactly what I needed. I can carry my laptop and tablet, my lunch, a book, a sweater, my wallet and phone - everything I need for work, and it's all well organized. I can wear it as a backpack on my bike, put it in a pannier bag, sling it across a coat in the winter and it all works. I love it. BUT. Fjallraven, if you're reading this, please make this in a better fabric, with a more substantial cross-body strap. As it is, the fabric feels light and flimsy and isn't as waterproof as it could be, the cross-body strap isn't very comfortable, and the fabric is already beginning to fray a bit at the seams (I've had to cut frayed bits with nail scissors). I used to have an Ulvö, and I keep wanting *this* bag design in *that* material. I understand that this was meant to be foldable and light, but I think it would be a better bag if it gave up on being foldable and was just a bit more substantial.
But for anyone considering buying this: I still love it, and would buy it again. Fjallraven, if you make it in another material, I'd buy ANOTHER ONE.
