Brazil 50cm Woven Bamboo & Rattan Basket, brown, AM.PM

The Brazil basket is made on the island of Lombok in Indonesia and woven according to the creativity of the weaver.
To make the patterns, the weaver inverts the surface of the rattan so that when the varnish is applied, it absorbs more of the colour..

Beautiful but too small for what I needed it for

I didn't realise that the basket was only about 35 cm high and that the lid made up the rest of the listed height. I had hoped to use this as a laundry basket but it's just too small. A shame as it's a really beautiful basket. The lid was also stiff and needed two hands to wrestle it on and off, which I knew would become annoying.
