Recreating the Naturalist Trend by @fourcornersinteriors

The naturalist trend incorporates natural elements which achieves a clean and fresh space, with a spot of green to bring some life into it. Interior designer, Alimah Sitta from @fourcornersinteriors, gives her top tips on how we can do the same.

Naturalist Edit

As we move away from glamorous golds and silvers, naturally the next step is to re-embrace the infusion of natural elements into the home - pardon the pun!

My current favourite way to style homes is using calming,,natural elements. Whether by way of real or artificial plants creating a botanical oasis, or natural woods and materials helping to reduce your carbon footprint, the natural edit is definitely one to stay!

I have selected 10 of my favourite pieces from this trend at La Redoute, that I would love to have in my own or a clients home. Check out my selections below:

Maranao Cushion Cover

Maranao Cushion Cover

A 100% cotton cushion, with OEKO-TEX certification which makes it kinder to our skin, and a beautiful tropical design. What more could you want in a cushion cover?! The pretty pastel colours that make up the refreshing design make it the perfect addition to bring summer into the home any time of year.

Trailing Spanish Moss/Tilandsia Plant

What is better than a beautiful trailing plant to bring some depth, texture and nature into the home? An artificial plant that needs no care but looks incredibly real! I’m not sure if I love the fact that the plant style is so unique or the fact that it looks so real, more! Its full foliage will make it the perfect addition to any shelf or table.

Piana Tufted Botanical 100% Cotton Duvet Cover

I’m not sure I’ve seen a duvet with a more dreamy design. The bold green embroidery and natural colour could create the loveliest bohemian escape in your bedroom. Coupled with complimentary natural elements like woods and plants, it would serve to create a tropical oasis in your home.

Artificial Variegated Rubber Tree

I know I know, I thought it was real too! The tall height and very real look of this rubber tree will definitely have your guests rating your plant parenting skills! Place it on an elevated planter to give it even more height and you have a houseplant that will stand the test of time.

Set of 3 Wekoso Printed linen Canvases

I’m always on the lookout for beautiful unique looking art, especially in groups of 3’s (an old interior styling trick) and this set of canvases doesn't fall short. Its linen material and soft, monochromatic palette means it will fit into a wide variety of spaces. I especially love the grand size of the canvases - a real show stopper!

Bunny Tail bunch

I’m sure you’ve seen these in the corner of every home featured in Architectural Digest or stuffed in the vases of your favourite home account on social media. Bunny tails are such a cute and effective way to bring some nature in your home without the pressure of watering fresh flowers or dealing with the shedding from pampas grass! What I love most about bunny tails is that a little really goes a long way. You can add a few stems from your bunch to various vases around the home and they all look just as stylish.

Iquitos Panoramic Jungle wallpaper

Want to transform your space without the mess of paint or the pressure of painting your own mural? Well then this wallpaper is your perfect solution. Its monochrome finish means it will complement rooms with any existing colour scheme, but is bold enough to take any room from drab to fab.

Nasaliser Teak Coat Stand

What is one practical item we all need in our homes but is also notoriously boring looking? A coat stand, right? Well, not anymore! I stopped in my tracks when I saw this stunning teak coat stand. Not just because I have a thing for teak wood, or because its multi height hooks make it practical for people of all heights, but because, well, it’s gorgeous! It would easily make for a conversation starter in its raw form. I love it!

Samy Flower Organic Cotton Rug

Who doesn’t love precious flowers under their feet?! This cute yellow flower is enough to brighten up anyone’s day, let alone room! Made from organic cotton, and handwoven, it would make the perfect addition to a little child’s room, entryway or bathroom. My favourite feature has to be that its washable too!

So there you have it, my top 10 picks from LaRedoute’s Naturalist Edit. If you’re a nature lover like me, I’m sure you will find something, if not everything a perfect fit for your home. Happy Shopping!
