• In the heart of Portugal, home to a family business of artisan ceramists, these ceramics are created with passion, crafted with the greatest care. And this has been the case for generations, since 1886.
• The stoneware used in these ceramics comes from high-quality clay, harvested in the region and worked by hand. The glazes, the fruit of lengthy research, are created from raw, natural materials.
• Handmade by inspired ceramists, each piece is unique, original and exclusive.
• The Sintra range is produced in reactive glazed stoneware. This finish is entirely handcrafted, each piece is unique and will bring a unique touch to your table..
• This technique involves the application of different enamels and oxides: Following a first firing, the craftsmen apply metal oxides to the pottery to create the desired effect. The pieces are then covered with an enamel glaze of a different colour, to bring out the metal flecking effect. The colour and rendering of the enamel is therefore dependent on the temperature of firing, baking time, the thickness of the enamel and how it is applied.
