    Review Summary

Reviews mainly highlight an appreciated design, good quality of oiled acacia wood and a teak finish seen as attractive, with assembly often straightforward and a rather stable structure. However, several note an uneven finish, rough surfaces, a colour sometimes different from the photos, and a few cutting and fitting flaws.

      Glue from sticker ruined finish!

The glue from the stupid sticker ruined the oiled finish! WHY do people in factories insist on sticking stickers on porous and absorbent wooden products? There was a large long sticker on the bottom which has completely taken off the finish from the wood. It must have taken us 20+ minutes to get it off and it left a horrible sticky residue which had soaked deep into the wood. The actual product seems like ok quality considering the low price, but the product has been spoiled by the sticker/glue which is VERY annoying.

Response from La Redoute , 07/09/2026

      Hello,

Thank you for your feedback; we are genuinely sorry that this product did not meet your expectations.

Following your feedback, we carried out a quality check on our products in stock. We did not identify any specific quality issues, and when we slightly dampened the label, we did not notice any loss of finish.

We have passed on your comments to our quality department to investigate.

As the product has an oiled finish, we recommend applying linseed oil to tone down this effect.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Solid shelf but ruined by metal sign not in photos

The shelf is very solid and seems good quality but I think it should be made clear in photos that there’s a large metal sign in the middle of the shelf which faces outwards. It’s great to know the wood is environmentally friendly but the metal sign is very garish! I assumed it was a mistake and meant to be put somewhere more discreet on shelf but customer services confirmed all of them have this feature.

      Stylish shelf

Really pleased with this shelf, the wood is a lovely warm colour, it was easy to put together, and looks exactly as expected and described. Feels sturdy and more expensive than it was. Great value!

MDF not acacia. Looks cheap and nasty

Made of MDF, not acacia as stated (same for this whole range, and probably other bathroom products). Had to return - La Redoute lost the return and I had to chase for a refund. La Redoute now won't refund the other items purchased from this range either.
