Made in Europe, Perfect at Home

Sustainable fashion. It used to be a buzzword - now it’s becoming a byword for brands that care about their products, their customers, and the environment. There is so much that goes into producing responsible, environmentally friendly fashion; from the manufacturing, fabric treatment, shipping, transport and packaging.

In celebration of Europe Day on 9th May, we wanted to showcase our loyalties as a clothing brand that manufactures items in the continent. It is true, you can feel as good as you look when you know you’re playing your part in redirecting fashion.

Read on for our pick of the wardrobe staples you can find in our ‘Made In Europe’ collection.

Where are your clothes made?

You might not think it, but location plays a huge part in reducing the environmental impact of producing clothing. At La Redoute we prefer to transport all our goods by train or boat, reduc-ing CO2 emissions and, in turn, our carbon footprint.

One of the best ways to do this is to keep our production local. That’s why, with a focus on our seasonal fashion, we promote European manufacturing.

Thanks to our Made In Europe collection, you can browse all your fashion favourites, made with care and attention on the continent where environmental concerns and workers’ rights are prioritised.

The Floral Dress

The right floral dress can be a year-round statement. Go bare-legged in the summer with a pair of cute pumps or trainers and a denim jacket for a relaxed vibe; or pair with opaque tights, boots and a leather jacket in the winter for a splash of colour during the colder months.

Choosing pieces that you can work into your wardrobe year-round is one of the best ways to dress in a sustainable way.

The White Trainers

We don’t know about you, but we live in our bright white trainers from spring through to autumn. Quite simply, these are a go-to for 90% of our casual outfits. Whether you wear them with jeans and a tee for a relaxed look, adding a floral number for a playful vibe, or with your bikini on the beach; these shoes will see you through all the good times.

The Classic Coat

Just because we’re approaching summer doesn’t mean you can ditch the coats for good - this is the northern hemisphere after all!

Bright, sunny days often lead to clear, starry and cool nights, so your favourite coat will come in handy even during the warmer months.

A chic oversized coat looks great with trousers or a dress and is big enough to cuddle into for warmth while you’re stargazing.

The White Tee

A sweet, neat t-shirt is something everyone should have in their wardrobe. Go classic cotton with a simple seam or choose something with frills, ruffles or lace for a chic and elegant twist.

Tuck into a pair of jeans or wear with palazzo pants for a look that’s the ultimate in casual cool.

The Skinny Jean

Having a decent pair of denim skinny jeans in your wardrobe is a must. Whether black, white, grey or blue; these flattering high-waisted jeans can be dressed up or down.

Throw on a blazer over a casual tee and team with heels or wedges to take them from AM to PM.

The Handbag

Everyone loves a leather handbag and choosing one from responsible sources means you can feel great about your investment.

You might think a traditional black or brown handbag is the way to go, but adding a pop of col-our to your outfit with a statement bag makes being brave with colour effortless.

The Ballet Flat

Pretty and delicate, ballet pumps offer a flat (and comfortable!) alternative to heels if you want to dress up your denim or sweet floral frock. Whether you choose a subtle black or nude - or opt for a splash of colour - there are plenty of styles to choose from.

For a funky twist, team them with a pair of delicate frilled or mesh ankle socks.

The Wedge

Everybody loves a wedge heel. More comfortable and easy to walk in than your average stilet-to, wedges and espadrilles are a popular summer staple. Perfect with summer dresses, casual jeans or shorts, they look great with almost everything.

For beach days, wear them with your bikini for a flattering, leg-lengthening effect.

The Bikini

If you’re shopping for swimwear for sunbathing purposes, choosing something adaptable like this mix-and-match style gives you plenty of options for adjusting those tan lines.

Made with a flattering ruched shape and back clasp, this feminine piece is just crying out to be shown off.

The Shorts

Summer is coming! So having the right pair of flattering shorts in your wardrobe is the best way to stay chilled.

Fear not, shorts don’t have to be of the cheek-flashing variety. Choose something longer with a flattering, smooth cut for a look that’s as cool as you’ll be while wearing it.
