Africa Daley-Clarke and her young family have created a stunning, cosy home where everyone can relax. The last two years have taught us all about the importance of cosy comforts in the home, and here the mother, art director and activist from @thevitamindproject shares her ideas for creating a relaxing space.
Cosy Comforts
Texture in the home
There’s no happier place for me than buried beneath a pile of cosy blankets! Adding varied texture to a space is what shifts a house to a home and you’ll be surprised at what a difference it can make to a room, especially if you’re wanting to make small transitional tweaks ahead of a new season.
If you’re “stuck” with a larger piece of furniture in your home that no longer reflects the space -rather than swapping it out immediately, consider playing with different soft furnishings and injecting colour and texture this way.
One of my favourite things about La Redoute soft furnishings is that almost all of the ones I’ve opted for here can be washed on a similar setting -making laundry easier and creating a much more child-friendly environment. Nothing says cosy like a candle at this time of year -I like to keep mine safe in a glass surround like this Uyova candle holder, always on a hard, sturdy surface -I opted for this stunning Thilde side table in Mango wood (a favourite of mine) -the perfect spot for a book, a mug of earl grey and of course a few biscuits!

You’ll find me hibernating in this cosy corner from now until Spring but until then…
…Top tip, if like me, you have little ones around -all these blankets and cushions make for exceptional dens too!
