All about:

You're looking forward to the first frosty days of the year, so you can finally light your fireplace or stove. The crackling of the fire, the dancing flames and glowing embers are all essential to you, and you pay great attention to everything that goes with it.

The fire is often the focal point of the home in winter. We take refuge there with a good book or a cup of tea. It's also a place of conviviality, where conversations flow freely and aperitifs with friends are a delight. As a central element of the living room, it's a decorative object in its own right, and so are all the utensils attached to it. The log rack is one of them. Whether displayed indoors or outdoors, it's an essential storage accessory that needs to be chosen with care. Let's face it, carrying logs isn't one of our favorite things to do around the fire, but you've got to get over it and choose the right equipment.

The indoor log rack

The first criterion to bear in mind when choosing your log store is the space you have available. Wood storage takes up a lot of space, and needs to be changed frequently. So your second criterion is practicality. You should also ask yourself whether you want a simple log rack for two or three fires, or real storage for many uses. Sleek and elegant, black metal models combine practicality and aesthetics. They blend easily into any decorating style, and can even add a touch of design to your contemporary interior. Depending on your space requirements, you can opt for the rack version for larger storage or the more compact version for just a few logs. In a bohemian or ethnic home, opt for rattan or wicker baskets, which give a raw, distinctive look to your decor. For a less traditional look, opt for a more discreet log bag in hard-wearing textile.

The outdoor log rack

Your wood supply is usually located outside the house, in your backyard or garden, and needs to be protected from the elements. To preserve all its properties, firewood needs to be stored in a dry, ventilated area. With a suitable shelter, you can stack the wood and keep it tidy throughout the season. Depending on your environment, opt for a wooden shelter with solid or lattice sides for optimum ventilation. You can lean it against a wall, for example, or against your house. Galvanized steel models are an alternative. With anti-corrosion, abrasion and UV-resistant treatments, they are designed to withstand the rigors of outdoor use. If your space is tight, don't worry, these items come in different sizes to best suit your needs. Think about the aesthetics that speak to you and select the most suitable product.
