      Great bit of kit for the kitchen.

      Purchased to replace older version. Fabulous so pleased with its performance and the hinged lid makes a big difference highly recommend.

      New Slow cooker

      Bought to replace my old slow cooker .

      Unhappy customer

      After using slow cooker approximately 5 - 10 times the pot has began to flake. Previous slow cooker lasted for years so very disappointed in the quality of this one. Have only used silicone utensils so definitely a fault with the product.

      Not suitable for induction hobs

      Ordered this to replace my last Morphy Richards slow cooker (with ceramic insert) which had served me well. It still worked but the on/off dial had broken and the stainless steel was getting a few rust spots.

      Features that drew me to the new one were the hinged lid (my husband dropped my old one and I'd used foil to cover it for years!) I also felt that this would stop the condensation from dripping everywhere when stirring whatever was cooking. Another feature was the sear prior to stewing with the insert being metal, rather than ceramic. This makes the slow cooker much lighter than my pervious one, a bonus as I keep it on a high shelf in a cupboard. Unfortunately, I have an induction hob and the insert is not suitable for use on induction hobs. I didn't see this being pointed out in the item description and didn't realise until reading the manual. Unfortunate that I won't be able to use this feature, but you don't miss what you never had!

      The new one is the same capacity as my old one, but is taller and therefore not as long. Not a problem for cooking cubed meat for example, but I'm not sure it would fit a leg of lamb in it, as my old one would have. The benefit of this is that it takes up less room in the cupboard.

      I haven't used it yet, but I trust it to work as well as my previous Morphy Richards product.
