Quilda Soild Oak Bed, wood, LA REDOUTE INTERIEURS

As with others I benefitted from a favourable saving on this bed, in king size. I bought this primarily for length as being 190 cm tall, I require the length. Note the previous comments regarding width - this requires a 160cm EURO-WIDTH King mattress but I imagine a UK width would suffice with a small gap; length would not be an issue. What I do use is a UK king duvet and the fit is good. Bed is in three packages and I self-assembled in roughly 40 minutes, very straightforward. A handy feature is that the slats are contained as a mat that rolls out rather than having to be individually laid. I would agree that slightly longer wood screws to secure the slats would be beneficial but with a mattress on top, the weight prevents movement. Overall a nice piece, the head board is certainly the statement part and good height off the ground to slide under any storage boxes.

I'm happy with this bed as had 40% off. I would've been less happy at full price as it is not worth that amount. It is not solid oak in areas but laminate layers of oak.

There was a small bit of damage to the foot end. The screws for attaching the middle support legs were nowhere near long enough and the wood on those legs was not oak so they immediately became dislodged. Luckily I had some longer screws from previous furniture so used them. The middle support doesn't sit snug in the end supports so pistons up and down when turning over in bed.and can be noisy.

It does look lovely but isn't very heavy so does scoot around easily on a wooden floor.

And be careful as it's a European size so a UK mattress size will be too small.

Easy to unpack and assemble, with logical instructions.

This bed frame is great - looks good and very simple to assemble.

I love the fact that it's designed so that the mattress doesn't sit too far down in the frame, which makes it so much easier to change the fitted sheet on a heavy king size mattress.

The bed is solid wood - this was a pleasant change from other beds! Easy to build and seemingly secure fittings.

The only point to raise is that it is an odd size.

I noted from previous reviews that a standard double mattress was too small. Checking the dimensions it appeared to be a European size frame. This isn't a problem if you know before ordering a mattress so that's what I did. The width is perfect but the mattress is slightly long. The photo shows the mattress before it had expanded but it is still long. I prefer it this way to a narrower one though.

Overall I love it and am really happy to have it!

Amazing piece of furniture at the discounted price. Like all furniture from this brand, substance sometimes gives way to style but this is a fairly solid piece and easily reinforced. In this case just extra 40mm screws to fix the slats down. Quality/finish of the visible oak is about right for a £600-700 bedframe.

Delivery drivers were polite , friendly and very helpful as my house is not easy to find.

Solid wood, great quality double bed. easy to build. Would highly recommend

Really pleased I bought this bed, the design and quality is great and just what I wanted. I have a standard double mattress which is slightly smaller than the frame but the gap in the side doesn’t bother me at all you don’t really notice with the covers on the bed.
