Create tasteful texture with stony hues by @thevitamindproject

Africa Daley-Clarke, @thevitamindproject loves to use colour in a creative and restful way, with a rich palette of earthy tones that work well in any home. Here, she tells her how she uses stony hues in her spaces to create a restful, warm interior.

Stony Hues

Creating a naturally beautiful dining room

Our kitchen and dining spaces are full of natural rich golden yellow and brown hues which can become overbearing if not set off with the right materials. I love offsetting these spaces with injections of stony hues -sharp greys, industrial materials and washed linen all break up the space beautifully.

It can be tempting to want every single item in your room to shine, but I love how subtle the Yastigi linen table cloth is and the little glimpses it shows of our cast aluminium table legs. Similarly, the Onega curtains in sage green let in a beautiful light and it’s so easy to build a dramatic table scene just by the shadows cast around the table!

After 18 months with minimal hosting, I no longer save my dining pieces for special occasions and I love nothing more than dressing a table, even if only for myself. Try it yourself for an instant mood lifter!
