1. Turn your bedroom into a relaxing haven.
A good night’s sleep is essential for maintaining physical and mental health so, if possible, keep your bedroom for sleep only. Set the scene with little touches - candles and indoor plants give your home a calming feel while freshly laundered bedding, black-out curtains and a quality mattress will help you achieve a deeper sleep.2. Get back to nature and work on your garden.
Look at this as an opportunity to slow down to a more natural pace and get outside for a while, you could also work your way through the list of outdoor jobs you’ve been meaning to do forever. A bonus - tending to plants is known to have therapeutic benefits.3. Take time for tea.
Tea drinking is traditional in many countries around the world from Japan to Morocco and of course here in the UK. Put the kettle on and use the time to clear your mind or curl up with a good book and your favourite brew.
4. Commit to get fit.
We might not like it, but we all know it, exercise is a great mood booster. Commit to taking your daily walk or run or sign up to one of the many online fitness classes that are taking place during lock-down. From ballet to body pump there’s something for everyone. Consider investing in a smart watch or fitness tracker to stay motivated and achieve your goals.
5. Bathe and rewind.
Rediscover the great indoors and take the time to sink into a warm bath - in the morning, evening or anytime, there are no rules. Add candles, essential oils or bubbles for extra atmosphere and let yourself relax. Dry off with clean fluffy towels and wrap up in a cosy dressing gown to complete the experience.
