General Sofa Care
Whether you opted for luxurious velvet or classic leather, here are a few tips for looking after your sofa, whatever the fabric!
Plump cushions regularly
Just like scatter cushions, sofa cushions will loose volume over time therefore will need a little help to get them looking perfect again.
Keep away from sunlight & heat
All fabrics are vulnerable to heat and light so it’s important to consider this when choosing where to place your sofa. Keep away from direct sunlight and radiators to avoid fabrics fading and, of course, away from naked flames.
Clean up spills straight away
Spillages are inevitable from time to time but acting quickly with help avoid stains. Soak up any excess liquid using a dry cloth. Refer to the Care by Fabric section for more information
Look after your sofa’s frame
Avoid sitting on the arms of your sofa and ensure to lift when moving it rather than dragging
Protect your floor from scratches
Add felt pads to the feet of your sofa, this will also help you to slide your sofa around should you should to re-position it

Make sure to measure not only the front door or any internal doors that the sofa will have to pass through on its way
Spillages
After soaking up excess liquid, dry with a hairdryer at a distance. Use the brush to correct the pile. If the stain is too deep, turn to specialist fabric cleaning products
Leather
Think about any corners you might have to manoeuvre around in order to get your sofa to it’s desired spot!
Spillages
Soak up any excess liquid but avoid wiping as this can cause the liquid to further permeate the leather. A specialist leather cleaner is the best option for more sever spillages so make sure to keep a good stock of it.
Fabric
Does the sofa need to go up the stairs? Check the width of your stair-well & factor any turns along the way

After soaking up excess liquid, use a damp cloth to dab at any lasting marks. If the stain is too deep, turn to specialist fabric cleaning products
