Breakfast Suite 1.7L Variable Temperature Kettle - 5KEK1701 - KITCHENAID
The 1.7 L variable temperature kettle quickly and quietly boils water to the temperature of your choice. Automatic heating technology takes care of boiling your water and automatically shuts off after boiling is complete.
Its generous size means you can heat water for multiple servings of tea, coffee, cereals and more.
It's convenient to fill at the tap with its lid-release button, and you can check the water window to clearly see the water level.
A nice chime lets you know when your water has reached the desired temperature for your brew.
There's a removable and washable limescale filter that helps to reduce the presence of limescale and a neat cord wrap in the base prevents any excess cord from cluttering up your countertop.

Disappointed with this kettle
If it wasn't for the fact that we needed to replace our kettle & wanted to colour match our Kitchenaid Kettle, I'm no sure we would have bought this. It's not that good looking (for instance, the spout doesnt blend in with the body - it looks like its just been stuck on as an after thought), the lid doesnt open easily, its "boiled" alarm is loud ....

Very bad design
I have never come across such a stupid design. Pushing the lid release pushes the lid closed, in order to open the lid you have to get your finger nail under the edge and pull it up. The one star is because the kettle works.

Nice kettle, but you can’t put any water in it!
Lovely designed kettle, with handy temperature control. Unfortunately, I have had 2 of these kettles and both of them have lids that did not function…hoping no.3 is better! The lid is very flimsy and doesn’t open when the button is pressed - not at all what you would expect from a premium product, which is very disappointing.

Issues with the lid
We purchased this kettle to replace the old style kitchen aid artisan kettle 1.5 ltr, however from day one we were disappointed with how noisy it was it comparison with our old kettle and after a couple of days use we also noticed how difficult it was to open the lid to fill the water, we were having to press the lid many, many times before it popped up. We returned the kettle and bought the old style one again and I am delighted that we now have a quiet kettle and can refill it easily. I wouldn’t recommend this kettle to anyone. Sorry Kitchen Aid.

Lovely kettle BUT …….
Whilst this kettle looks great and is simple enough to use, the lid open/closure button is unpredictable. It seems as if it won’t allow you to refill with water until the kettle has really cooled down and this can be a disadvantage if you need to refill it immediately. Not sure if I’ve got a faulty kettle or otherwise! It may need to be returned.

Amazing kettle
I am obsessed with this kettle, not only does it look amazing It is amazing. I am visually impaired and have limited vision so you can see the lights going up to the right temperature but the cherry on the cake so to speak is that it makes a dingdong noise when it’s boiled! That is amazing and so helpful I would highly recommend this kettle.
