Bed Linen
Care for your bed linen properly and it will stand the test of time.
Washing bed linen - some things to remember
Always wash bed covers before using them for the first time to remove any traces of chemicals left from the production process.
Follow the care instructions on the label.
Wash white and coloured fabrics separately.
Wash bed sets together to prevent variations in colour.
Wash printed fabrics inside out to avoid damage to the patterns.
How to soften new bed linen
Always wash bed linen before using it for the first time.
Alternatives to white vinegar:
Linen and cotton bedding can be softened in the tumble dryer or with a steam iron.
Laundry balls save on water, energy and detergent, and will also leave your bed linen feeling softer and more supple.
Storing bed linen
Wait until your bed linen is dry before putting it away.
Store it away from direct light to keep colours looking vibrant.
Keeping bed linen fragrant and fresh
Air bedrooms every day.
Use a perfumed detergent.
For a more natural scent add 5 to 10 drops of essential oil to a face cloth and place in the washing machine drum with your bed linen.
How often should you change your bed linen?
Bed linen collects sweat, dead skin cells and mites so wash it regularly - at least every two weeks in winter and weekly in the summer.
