What is a connected watch?
The connected watch, also known as a Smartwatche, is a computer gadget offering a host of functions that are richer than wristbands. This goes far beyond the classic utility of the portable measuring instrument with hands or electronics that we're used to wearing. The connected watch not only tells the time and times, it's a veritable electronic diary, and soon even a micro-smartphone with Bluetooth and Wi-fi connectivity. Like a mobile operating system, the watch can also run applications and be linked to the mobile. So you can access your e-mails, social networks and even SMS messages. A way of quickly accessing the information you need from your mobile without having to take it out. Thanks to its small size, the connected watch can be transformed into a sports coach, and thus falls within the field of connected health. The screens, memories and performance vary from model to model and, depending on the system, may be compatible with smartphones. From hands and electronics to LCD and OLED screens, the choice is endless. Sony, Yonis, Motorola, Samsung, Gear4 and LG offer connected watches in a range of colors: black, red, white, blue and pink.
