Agility Peak 5 GORE-TEX® Waterproof Trail Running Trainers, purple/black, MERRELL

I have several Merrill’s, the agility peak has been my go to for the last few years. I live in Moab ( yes that Moab), and run and hike in rough terrain. I need a big toe box, aggressive tread and have both the GTX and regular style. I buy a half size up to a 9.5 but decided to go up another half size to accommodate my thicker socks.

Big mistake, although I have a good fit, my heel constantly slips which can be quite uncomfortable, allowing small rocks in my shoe. I do put another insert in because I need the extra padding. I don’t know quite what to do about the heel slippage. Otherwise I really like this style. I’m not crazy about the color, I usually wait for the sales and i ended up with black this time but color doesn’t make the shoe.

Merrill I’m still open to being a shoe tester 😉

These are nice and I tried to make them work. They are very light weight and oh, so comfy! I had to return them because the BOA style wasn’t wide enough. The BOA opening was too tight for the widest part of my foot. So I bought a non waterproof pair with the laces. They are way roomier and more comfortable for my feet. Too bad, because I wanted the gore tex and BOA system. Worked out, though. Merrell is wonderful with returns.

Awesome shoes for hiking flat trails when hauling kids around. Not ideal for steep inclines due to the lack of ankle support, but so comfortable for steady trails.

I love this shoe! It is my favorite for hikes, dog walks, anything in wet or dry weather. Keeps my feet dry on rainy days and in wet grass and gives me good footing on rocky trails. Very comfortable! My feet are happy. Fits in my regular size.

I've had Merrell hiking shoes in the past and really liked them. After reading a recommendation, I decided I'd give these a try. I'm happy I did. They hug my foot nicely so I don't slide around in the shoe or hit my toes on the front when going down steep inclines. The toe box is wide enough and the grip is great. Sizing matches up with what I always wear!

Excellent fit and weight. Quality materials and a great tread.

I have been wearing the Merrell Antora for a couple of years. I decided to try the Agility because I liked the style, Gortex and positive reviews. The left shoe just didn’t feel comfortable. I’m not sure if it was a seam or some defect but for the price they should not hurt your foot. Unfortunately I returned.

Honestly one of my favorite shoes. Just got some hookas before this pair, and I find myself having to wear these to alleviate any pain caused from my hookas. 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND. Feels like you’re always on clouds! My coworker saw mine & bought himself a pair too!
