Classic Glass 1.7L Kettle - RUSSELL HOBBS

The 3rd one of these in 4 years. I keep buying this kettle because I really like it's look and operation. I keep hoping one will last beyond the 2 year warranty period. Apart from longevity I have 1 gripe - it is very difficult to change the filter. So far I haven't been able to get one out so that I can get a new one in.

I bought one of these kettles 2023 and accidentally dropped something on the glass spout it then shattered the whole thing with very sharp shards of glass.. my partner wasn’t happy said I was I bit clumsy then realised very quickly how thin the glass was.. I said it’s fine I’ll replace it so I did went out bought the identical replacement… end 2024 Just today ironically my partner caught the glass spout with a “soft Plastic tablet container” it smashed again all the glass top iff the kettle again!!!!! Hardly touched it…. Re-inspected the glass and realising it “may” be heatproof but NOT safety glass!! This product is dangerous my partner works in a test lab for these types of products and cannot believe it’s achieved a safety pass sticker.. My advice is DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.. The kettle works fine the glass is NOT fit for purpose..

Noisiest kettle I have ever owned, terrible pourer you have to be very careful when pouring into mugs or you will have hot water everywhere also one needs a strong wrist to remove the lid to fill. In one word ,rubbish.

We love this kettle in our household, partly because it's fun to watch the lights lit up as it boils. Most welcome on a gloomy day, but attractive at any time. It's a good kettle, solidly built, good quality, looks like a sturdy nice appliance, does what you need a kettle to do and I like the guides on the side for how much to put in. You can also easily see how much water you are putting in the kettle, which really helps. The only negative is, as someone else has pointed out, that the spout is very wide, much wider than a normal kettle. It means more boiling or hot water comes out than normal, and you have to bear this in mind when pouring. It won't pour into a small funnel-type space, it's fine for a cup of tea but it does have a tendency to spill over the sides when poured into something. I don't imagine that people will want children to use this kettle but if they do, be aware that hot water is likely to be spread over a much bigger area than you think. For us it's a very small concern, just something to be aware of and not really a difficulty. We would still buy this kettle as a replacement if it broke.

This is a very nice kettle with an elegant design. The only thing I wanted was to be just glass made and the lid is still plastic.

I returned this kettle after a month, it developed a leak somewhere at the base line, therefore extremely dangerous and unusable. In addition it had a few other isdues so I chose a different kettle instead of a replacement. The spout did not pour centrally , making it hard to fill a flask, the lid difficult to remove as there was a lot of tension. The product looked nice and I liked the idea that it was glass, but I didn't feel confident getting another

Received it early and in good condition. Works great and love the look and size.

Shows me the numbers of tea cups fills when boiling which is very useful.

Very happy and look forward to shopping here in the future.

Bought this 6 weeks ago and large crack has formed already and is spreading. Will have to stop using and replace already. Unfortunately I didn't keep receipt but definitely won't buy this again or recommend. Terrible quality!
