I loved this set! The droids looked amazing and were fun to play with! I found the Gonk droid kept falling over and I needed to add some bricks to his feet, but that was even more fun! A great set overall.

It seems the Gonk is tail heavy and falls over backwards.

Pretty sure it’s built exactly like instruct us. Sure some sort of counterweight on the front will solve the problem.

    Others have this problem?

Nope! Shouldn't be doing that. Sounds like something is probably a little out of place in the legs. You'll want to pay special attention to where they connect to the droid's body and feet. If you need a hand troubleshooting the build, you can get in touch at LEGO.build/Service-BV.

Very interesting set with enjoyable coding experie

This is the first lego set I bought that was involved with coding. Great features with a good size particularly the R2-D2. Also the Gonk looks fab when it’s walking. The virtual instruction with 3D are working perfect on the iPad. The coding/challenges are easy enough and straightforward. The only pity it only comes one motor & battery box for 3 figures so my daughter can’t play them at the same time. Great lego set you could play more than display.

We're sorry to hear that you had a frustrating time with this set. If you're having trouble building, make sure you're using the in-app instructions. They allow you to view the build from different angles and zoom in and out. That way you can see exactly where each piece goes. As for coding, completing each of the missions in order should give you all the info you need to start custom coding later. If you find you still need a hand, head to LEGO.build/Help-BV. Search for "BOOST" and you'll find a help article that goes a bit more in depth about what every kind of coding block does.

    Complete waste of money

Bought this set hoping for an interactive experience, but it’s just terrible. The app is counter-intuitive, the programming has no logic to it, there is no real teaching element to it! Only built one droid, tried it, realised the shortcomings and wished I could get a refund. This has to be the most disappointing set I’ve ever bought... don’t waste your money

We're sorry to hear you were disappointed in this set. The app's designed so that builders can learn through exploration. Go through the activities and try things! Different missions give builders the chance to try out different coding blocks and see what they do. By the time the missions are complete, builders will have gained a grasp on the coding block language, while learning important skills about testing hypotheses and cause and effect. If you're having trouble with the programming language, you can always visit LEGO.build/Help-BV and search "BOOST" to see a more in-depth explanation of how the coding blocks work.

When I first saw this, it looked awesome. Later after I bought it I looked at the reviews. They were either really good or really bad. After it came I immediately built it. When I built it, R2 would fall over, and the gonk droid would crash and the side would fall off. When I got it all set up it looked very cool. The coding is really smart. Then I tried one of the assignments and I could not seem to figure it out. Then after retrying it finally worked. This also happened a few other times. I would be doing this hours at a time. After you accept the small bad things you see the truly wonderful droids. If you are very critical, DO NOT GET IT. But if you are the opposite, these are the droids you are looking for.

Thanks for your review. If your droids are falling over or coming apart, it's a good idea to double-check the build. Something might be just a little off. If you need a hand with a particular mission, get in touch at LEGO.build/Service-BV.

A sign of things to come.

The requirement of the App is a huge letdown. I am not looking forward to the future of LEGO.

This set would have been way better if it came with an RC remote and paper instructions. Half the point of LEGO is to have a tangible physical object to interact with.

I'm afraid this will carry over into other sets in the future.

    Very disappointed

The droids are beautiful and fun to put together. The instructions are well made too. But the app... Oh dear. It's bad! It freezes all the time. The code doesn't work. The droids don't respond. The colour recognition doesn't work. It is infuriating!! I thought I'd be able to code fun things for the droids to do but I lost my patience on the second World.

This set is a great idea but the execution is terrible. It just seems like it was rushed out of the factory without proper testing.
