If you’re a regular blog reader, you’ll know how much we love linen. It’s our summer saviour: easy-breezy light-weight, flatteringly figure skimming and super absorbent to help us fight the sweat that comes with a mid-season heatwave.
You might think this simple style can speak for itself, but we can’t resist the chance to style it up and show you just how versatile you can make it.
The Dress
We’re going white, we’re going elegant, we’re going for these two beauties: 1 and 2
1. Keep it casual
For instant summertime chic, simplicity is key. Perfect for wandering sun drenched streets, we love it with a pair of clean, white Converse and a tan, Suede Fringed Bag.
2. Make a statement
Create a contrast with colourful accessories. This Tribal Beaded Necklace would sit beautifully against the open neckline, while Tasselled Earrings draw the eye upwards. Add a Floral Print Scarf and shades for maximum Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday vibes. We can’t get enough.
3. Go glam
Add a touch of old fashioned glamour with chunky, wooden soled sandals or this season’s must-have: mules. We love this suede pair in camel, and they come in black and nude versions too. Add an Orla Kiely Bangle and a Floppy Straw Hat to complete the look.
4. Add layers
Balance the soft, feminine fabric of your dress by layering with different textures. When the evenings draw in, add a snuggly knit like this Vikylie Fine Knit Crew Neck Jumper – you could even add a skinny waist belt to keep the dress’ figure hugging silhouette. Finally, our personal favourite is this Ex-Boyfriend Denim Trucker Jacket which would look fab shrugged on top. It’s boxy shape and coarse fabric are create the ideal balance of edgy and girly.
