More of us than ever are opting to fill our beauty regimes with natural and organic products, and it’s easy to understand why. The simple act of reading a label sometimes requires nothing short of a chemistry degree and a spare half an hour just to understand what you’ll be slathering onto your face, and that can be scary and confusing. Annoyingly, there’s no one-size-fits-all cheat sheet to reference.
Luckily, with so many brands popping up with seriously natural credentials and not a synthetic chemical in sight, it’s getting easier to make the change to something you can not only trust not to do you harm, but to actually nourish your skin with some of Mother Nature’s goodness. Here are a few of our favourites.
Pai’s Light Work Rosehip Cleansing Oil is made from Andean Rosehip Oil and contains high volumes of Omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9 (who knew there were that many Omegas?!). It works incredibly gently to remove every scrap of make-up and daily build up without irritation. Cruelty free, certified organic and vegan, it’s a great option for sensitive skin types that need a bit of added kindness and protection.
Used as an extra step before your moisturiser or as a treatment a few times a week, French aromatherapy brand Puressentiel’s Beautiful Skin Organic Essential Elixir Face Care Oil is made from a blend of four essential oils and four plant oils, all sustainably sourced from producers across the globe. A real treat to apply, its super silky formula smells great, fights aging and boosts radiance with no nefarious ingredients to reinforce that brow wrinkle.
Botanicals’ Gentle Moisturiser has a list of credentials so long, you’ll be holding up a giant “10” board by the time you’ve finished reading. Cruelty free, pregnancy safe, entirely recyclable and approved by the Soil Association, Gentle Moisturiser might as well have its own halo, it’s that impressive. Easily absorbed, balancing and soothing, it won’t leave an oily sheen either.
Aha, the step so easily forgotten! With SPF now included in so many of our skincare and make-up products, it’s easy to think it’s no longer necessary as a stand-alone. We love to have one in our arsenal, and the organic formula of Green People’s Facial Sun Cream is free from parabens, silicones, synthetic fragrances and so many of the other nasties that are often hiding in plain sight. SPF30 and with added anti-ageing Avocado & Green Tea, too!
Lip Balm – Odylique
